Walking in cairo streets few days before the holy month Ramadan, still make each one of us feel the thrill of its scent and remember lots of special memories.
The lantern or “Fanoos” is an old tradition used to decorate streets and homes in the month of Ramadan. With their origins in Egypt, they have since spread across the Muslim world and are a common symbol associated with the holy month.[2]
long ago and till today, children hold their “Fanoos” in streets singing while lights are spread along all cairo streets to celebrate Ramadan’s arrival
In this design, the abstract main shape of the “fanoos” was created along with diamond shaped pendants to reflect the lights hanged in streets.
